Whatever your own sign is, how do you appear to your parents and how do you behave towards your children? The Cancer Father A true family man who will happily embrace even stepchildren as if they were his own. Letting go of the family when they grow up is another matter. Cancerian sulks, moodiness and bouts of childishness can confuse or frighten some children, while his changeable attitude to money can make them unsure of what they should ask for. This father enjoys domesticity and child rearing and he may be happy to swap roles. The Cancer Mother Cancerian women are excellent homemakers and cheerful and reasonable mothers, as long as they have a part-time job or an interest outside the house. They instinctively know when a child is unhappy, and can deal with it in a manner that is both efficient and loving. These women have a reputation for clinging but most are quite realistic when the time comes for their brood to leave the nest. The Cancer Child These children are shy, cautious and slow to grow up. They may achieve little at school, 'disappearing' behind louder and more demanding classmates. They can be worriers who complain about every ache and pain or suffer from imaginary fears. They may take on the mother's role in the family, dictating to their sisters and brothers at times. Gentle and loving but moody and secretive, they need a lot of love and encouragement. The Leo Father These men can be wonderful fathers as long as they remember that children are not simply small and rather obstreperous adults. Leo fathers like to be involved with their children and encourage them to do well at school. They happily make sacrifices for their children and they truly want them to have the best, but they can be a bit too strict and they may demand too high a standard. The Leo Mother Leo mothers are very caring and responsible but they cannot be satisfied with a life of pure domesticity, and need to combine motherhood with a job. These mothers don't fuss about minor details. They're prepared to put up with a certain amount of noise and disruption, but they can be irritable and they may demand too much of their children. The Leo Child These children know almost from the day they are born that they are special. They are usually loved and wanted but they are also aware that a lot is expected from them. Leo children appear outgoing but they are surprisingly sensitive and easily hurt. They only seem to wake up to the need to study a day or so after they leave school, but they find a way to make a success of their lives. The Virgo Father These men may be embarrassed by open declarations of love and affection, and find it hard to give cuddles and reassurance to small children. Yet, they love their offspring dearly and will go to any lengths to see that they have the best possible education and outside activities. Virgoan men can become wrapped up in their work, forgetting to spend time relaxing and playing with their children. The Virgo Mother Virgoan women try hard to be good mothers, because they probably had a poor childhood themselves. They love their children very much and want the best for them, but they may be fussy about unnecessary details, such as dirt on the kitchen floor or the state of the children's schoolbooks. If they can keep their tensions and longings away from their children, they can be the most kindly and loving parents. The Virgo Child Virgoan children are practical and capable and can do very well at school, but they are not always happy. They don't always fit in and they may have difficulty making friends. They may be shy, modest and sensitive and they can find it hard to live up to their own impossibly high standards. Virgoan children don't need harsh discipline; they want approval and will usually respond perfectly well to reasoned argument. |
